Bryson City Bicycles is a new full service bike shop that offers bike sales and rentals, as well as apparel, parts and accessories, bike repair, bike fittings, guide books, trail maps and local riding information. The shop specializes in Kona bikes and Marin bikes, as well as Eastern BMX bikes.

"We are looking forward to introducing our shop and exciting assortment of very competitively priced Kona and Marin bicycles at our Grand Opening during Bryson City's Fourth of July Festival. We are a unique shop in that we're the only shop west of Asheville that carries BMX bikes and gear as well." Says Andy Zivinsky, co-owner of Bryson City Bicycles."

Bryson City has never had a full service bike shop operating in town. The town is only 15 minutes from the legendary single-track trails of Tsali Recreation Area, written up year after year as one of the best mountain biking areas in the country. Bryson City is also the home to one of 2 North Carolina entrances to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited park in the US National Park System. The Deep Creek entrance offers almost 10 miles of double track trails (former forest roads) that are open for bicycling, and hikers. While most riding in the mountains is often hilly, the road out to Deep Creek and first few miles of old roadbed are mostly flat, and excellent for novice riders.

"Our selection of nostalgic cruisers has been quite popular in our first two weeks We are carrying a wonderful line of traditional baskets for bicycles that you'd expect to find in Europe, not here in Western North Carolina. It's fun and incredibly practical for getting around town." Says Diane Cutler, co-owner of Bryson City Bicycles."

Bryson City Bicycles sells Kona and Marin mountain and road bikes, and BMX bikes, and will offer daily and multiday rentals of mountain bikes and their more laid-back counterparts "cruiser comfort bikes". The shop carries kids' and women's lines as well. The owners are enthusiastic and accomplished riders, coming from somewhat non-traditional bicycling backgrounds. Andy Zivinsky is a former BMX competitor, and was ranked #13 in the state of Florida as a teenager. He is now an adrenaline-happy mountain biker. His partner Diane Cutler, is an avid long distance touring cyclist, having ridden across the US from California to New York.
