Pakistan and Afghanistan hit by earth quake of 6.2 magnitude

Islamabad (Dawn.com): A powerful earth quake of 6.2 magnitude hit the Pakistan and Afghanistan boarder area. In Pakistan, the area hit by earthquake included Chitral. The earthquake hit the areas during the early hours of midnight that is 12:21 Am at the dept of 196 kilometers. It shook all the building in the surrounding areas but fortunately no loss of life or property was reported till our going to press.

Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to meet again

Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari has invited the Chief of Pakistan Muslim League to a banquet that he will be hosting for the Turkish Prime Minister. It is learnt the Mr. Nawaz Sharif has accepted the invitation. It is hoped that both the leaders will seriously discuss important issues like 17th amendment, balance of power between the President and the Prime Minister. Also the leaders will discuss the operation in South Waziristan.

Illegal Afghan Nationals to leave Islamabad within 72 hours - Interior Ministry

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Following attacks on the army by the terrorists in Islamabad. The Interior Ministry has issues warnings to the Afghan Nationals to leave the Capital City with 72 hours. The intelligence agencies have been given instruction to carry out house to house search to search of illegal foreign nationals residing in the area.

The Money Changers, as per the interior ministry, who are the source of funding the terrorists along with some foreign sources are also been tapped by the FIA. The money changers if found guilty could be charged under anti terrorism act.

Stocks plunge further by 94 points with bears continue to rule the market

Karachi (Dawn.com): The stock staged further decline, yesterday, as the foreign investors continued to offload their holdings particularly in the overvalued oil sector shares. 9,154.00 points were on board as the session ended showing a decline of 94 points.

Pakistan cricket board announces squad for New Zealand series

Lahore (Dawn.com): Pakistan cricket board announced names of players who would contest against the New Zealand in the forthcoming series in Abu Dhabi. Pakistan would be playing 3 One day International games, two twenty/20 matches and 3 test matches. Mohammad Younus has been named as captain for the test series and the ODI matches while Shahid Afridi will lead the Twenty/20 squad.
