The expectations placed on Paul Pogba’s shoulders were high after the Frenchman became the most expensive player in the world in the summer.

Manchester United splashed out a record £89million to bring the 23-year-old back to Old Trafford but it’s been far from plain sailing at the Theatre of Dreams for Pogba this term.

The midfielder has impressed in parts so far this season but, like his team-mates, Pogba has underperformed as the Red Devils languish in seventh place in the Premier League.

While there’s still an expectation that Pogba will come good at Old Trafford, many have questioned the midfielder’s price tag and his ability to cope with the demands in England.

However, a look at Pogba’s start to his last season at Juventus shows that the Frenchman has the ability to turn it around this season.

After the first eight games of last season, Pogba had the same amount of goals with Juventus as he does with United this term.

The Frenchman had also failed to register an assist and had considerably less touches on the ball.

However, Pogba kicked on and ended the season with eight goals in Serie A and as the joint-top provider of assists with 12.

We’re not yet into November and Pogba is clearly still finding his feet in a Manchester United side with a new manager and new ideas.

The midfielder’s hefty price tag hangs around his neck but Pogba’s quality is not in doubt and he’s shown he grows into campaigns.
