CTD foils terrorism bid in Quetta, killing two terrorists in action

QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department foiled a terrorism bid on Monday at the city’s Nawa Killi bypass, killing two terrorists in action, a spokesperson said.

CTD officials recovered a motorcycle in which the bomb, made of six to seven kilograms of explosive material, was installed.

Officials said the terrorists have been identified and are said to be involved in three other incidents including the recent McConaghey Road and Ghousabad mosque blasts.

The men were also involved in the attack on Rapid Response Group's (RRG) vehicle in which one officer was martyred and several were injured.

The bomb was operated through remote control, the spokesperson added. 

The action was taken after officials received an intelligence report of the terrorists whereabouts, the spokesperson said.
