FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Trophy Tour sees court action in Estonia and Poland

TALLINN & WROCLAW (Estonia & Poland) - The FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Trophy Tour resumed in May with stops in Estonia and Poland to coincide with league play-off action in each those two countries.

The Estonian capital Tallinn became the third stop on the tour between May 5 and 7, on the occasion of the Latvian-Estonian League semi-final clash between BC Kalev/Cramo and Parnu Sadam, presenting fans at Kalev sports hall with the rare opportunity to have their picture taken with the EuroBasket trophy.

This was not however the only location in Tallinn where the trophy was on display, as the Estonian capital stop lasted three days and consisted of a wide variety of activities, including of course a glamorous photo shoot in front of the old town landmarks.

Estonian Minister for Culture Tiit Terik was the dignitary who welcomed the Tour to Tallinn, while Deputy Mayor Vadim Belobrovtsev presented the trophy to national media at a press conference.

The trophy made a TV appearance on the popular news show "Seitsmesed uudised" alongside Estonian Basketball Federation’s Oliver Lall who informed viewers about the progress of the Estonian national team’s preparations for the big tournament.

On May 16 the tour moved on to its fourth stop, Wroclaw, where local club WKS Slask played host to Legia Warszawa in Game 1 of the Polish Basket Liga Finals.

The trophy stayed in the Polish city until May 18 and was on display during the official press conference to present the Finals, with Wroclaw Mayor Jacek Sutryk and Warsaw Vice-Mayor Renata Kaznowska in attendance.

On the day of the game the trophy took a prominent position in the TV pre-game show and on the court prior to tip-off, while of course the highlight of the night was fans at Hala Stulecia had the chance to take their picture with the trophy and with Bounce, the EuroBasket 2022 mascot.

The tour’s next stop is a true milestone, as it will be in Milan on May 24 to mark 100 days from the start of the big event. You can find the entire  FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Trophy Tour schedule here.
