Introduction to coding (Early August) in Liverpool

Date: 01-Aug-17 to 10-Aug-17
Location: Vanilla Factory / United Kingdom
Category: Education

The introduction to coding evening course takes place over two weeks, with evening sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:30 to 21:00 at our campus in the Vanilla Factory in the heart of Liverpool.
During this introductory course, you will learn how to create simple programmes using JavaScript, one of the most widely used programming languages.
This course is great for those who want to get an idea of what our boot camps are like, or want to find out if programming is for them, and counts towards the preparation for our 13-week web development boot camp.
This booking is for all of the following days and all sessions run from 18:30-21:00:
Tuesday 01/08/17 - Basics:
We will introduce you to the tools you will be using over the four sessions, taking a look at some simple programming concepts and, most importantly, get you writing your first programme!
Thursday 03/08/2017 - Objects & making programmes:
Building on Session 1, we will introduce you to the world of objects. We'll also step it up a level by building some more advanced programmes.
Tuesday 08/08/2017 - Controlling the flow:
In Session 3, we will look at making programmes more flexible and changing the flow of your programmes using loops, branches and more.
Thursday 10/08/2017 - Getting inventive:
In the final session, we will bring together everything you've learned so far, as well as some more advanced topics

Do I need to bring anything with me?
All we require you to bring is a relatively modern laptop that can connect to the internet as we use a web based tool during the sessions. Food (pizza) and refreshments will be provided on each of the sessions - if you have any dietry requirements please email after booking to let us know.
