/Naples//, TX - May 14, 2008/ - Debt Collection Practices: The state Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act require that, except under unusual circumstances, collectors may not contact you before 8 a.m. or after 9p.m. They may not harass you by using threats of violence or arrest or by using obscene language. Collectors may not use false or misleading statements or call you at work if they know or have reason to know that you may not receive personal calls at work. For the most part, collectors may not tell another person, other than your attorney or spouse, about your debt. Collectors may contact another person to confirm your location or enforce a judgment. Debt collections must comply with the federal Fair Debt Collect Practices Act, which limits there activities in trying to collect money from consumers. Most importantly, Section 805 (a) (1) of the Act says that you can not contact a consumer at work or any other place you know or should know is inconvenient to the consumer, and Section 805 (a) (3) of the Act says that you may not contact a consumer at work if you know that the consumer's employer prohibits such contacts. Individual debt collectors will be financially liable for their violations of the act.

The law requires a collection agency to stop contacting you about a debt if you write to them and ask to stop. How ever, under the law, a collection agency may contact you for two reasons:

· to advise you that we or your creditor intend(s) to pursue specific remedies permitted by law: or · to advise you that our efforts are being terminated.

It is Illegal for a collection agency to put collection on a credit report because that is telling another person other than my spouse or attorney of a bad debt. And you reporting it make's you just as guilty. You must delete all collections.

The law gives the collection agency the right to collect there debt, but the moment they buy your debt it turns into a product. You can not collect money for monetary gain with out giving something in return.
