Valerie Fuson Empowered Speaking & Coaching to be Featured on CUTV News Talk Radio

There’s no feeling more empowering than when you’ve done a great job speaking in front of people.
— Valerie Fuson
KILDEER, ILLINOIS, USA, January 9, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A fear of public speaking is one of the greatest fears any person can have. It’s a fear of the unknown, a fear of being judged. Unfortunately, no matter what your occupation, your success will depend greatly upon your ability to communicate effectively. Without it, opportunities could pass you by.

Obviously, projecting confidence in front of an audience is something many people struggle with, so developing the confidence to speak with meaning and deliver a message requires a powerful shift in our perspective.

Valerie Fuson is a Story and Influence Strategist and the founder of Empowered Speaking, a communication skills training and coaching practice specializing in helping entrepreneurs to create dynamic presentations that both inspire and transform their audience.

“There’s no feeling more empowering than when you’ve done a great job speaking in front of people,” says Valerie. “It’s normal to be nervous. You want your audience to understand the message you’re trying to convey. I empower my clients to think more confidently.”

Valerie says her job, first and foremost, is to help her clients develop their stories. A speaker or presenter is always better off telling a story and there are a number of stories any entrepreneur can share: a story of who they are in relation to their business; a story of who they are in relation to their values, what they stand for; and a success story of a client. These stories will allow you to connect with your audience emotionally because they’re following the transformation of a character.

“You’re not up there to give a speech and for people to hear you talk,” explains Valerie. “You’re there to impact them. It’s about what you want them to walk away with, a new idea or a better way of thinking.”

And according to Valerie, your delivery is often more important than your content. There’s a magic to an effective presentation. You almost have to create the illusion that this is the first time you’re communicating your ideas to an audience and you’re coming up with your ideas spontaneously. Indeed, Valerie has been known to incorporate elements of Improvisation in her coaching sessions to help teach her clients how to remain “in the moment” when presenting.

“If you mess up and get nervous, the audience is uncomfortable, but if you can make fun of it, the audience laughs because you’re playing with them,” says Valerie. “Through Improv you begin to relax. It frees your mind to be open and respond to your environment. It becomes more of a conversation and the most effective presentations feel like conversations.”
