Eclectic version of “This Mess We’re In” is sure to dazzle.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, March 14, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ --
William Close is widely known as the creator and performer of the Earth Harp. Performances by the Earth Harp Ensemble have proven to be unforgettable live musical experiences that have impressed concert-goers around the globe. This new version of the PJ Harvey tune, “This Mess We’re In,” was captured as part of the Grand Performances concert series in downtown Los Angeles last summer, when William strung his Earth Harp to 800ft to the top of a skyscraper, looking like the strings were going straight into the sky! The resulting recording exemplifies a unique virtuosity of playing by William Close & the Earth Harp Collective…an amazing live performance experience!

This particular song was identified by the Earth Harp Collective’s Music Supervisor Sarah Werrin. Her passion for all genres of music along with her encyclopedic knowledge directed her to this eerily emotional song that is as compelling as it is rhythmic. Singing on this recording are the EHC’s Vocalists Rafe Pearlman and Laura Vall who accomplish exactly what performers should do when covering someone else’s material. They demonstrate respect for the original, while making the track their own.

William Close explains, that people are inside the instrument when they see the Earth Harp. It’s an inspiring, beautiful symphonic occurrence to see and hear! “I’ve always known how powerful the Earth Harp Collective is in a live performance setting. But with music, choosing the right songs is so vital,” he states and continues: “I’m very proud of the selection and recorded live performance of “This Mess We’re In,” is a perfect piece for the Sky Scraper Earth Harp concerts. The lyrics explore images of buildings and love and amazing cities! The music we created for the piece works so well with the lush string pulses played on the giant 800-foot Earth Harp.”

In addition to the recording, the EHC has also released the video of “This Mess We’re In “.

William Close adds that he’s well aware that many artists are better at LIVE performances then they are in the studio and sometimes the reverse is true as well, where the records are great but performances fall flat. In this instance, the live recording stands as a great representation of a stellar concert. As an inventor, one thing is certain. Will Close will continue to experiment with both performance and recordings until they are consistently parallel. If this rendition of: “This Mess We’re In,” is any indication, he’s already there.
