MININT vows to expel police officers with indecent behavior

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 18 - The Interior Ministry is determined to remove undisciplined officers from the police force, Angolan Interior Minister Ângelo Tavares said Wednesday in Luanda, pointing out the record of many unworthy police behaviors in the performance of duties that have tarnished the corporation.,

"All harmful officers must be cleansed from our midst, for we have been experiencing many unworthy behaviors, for which we must have the humility to apologize publicly and make a commitment to be more vigorous against those of our companions who have not been fulfilling the oath they did, "he said.

The Cabinet minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the different officials of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) and the Penitentiary Service (SP), appointed under the new Organic Statutes of the Organs of the Ministry of the Interior, approved by the Council of Ministers.

He recommended to work more rigorously on the moral suitability of the Ministry of Interior, who must assume the role of true servants of the State.

Minister Angelo Tavares wants the SIC to have capable cadres and with stronger moral values.

He called on experts in the fight against corruption, financial and fiscal crimes and drug and public health crimes to be technically and morally prepared to withstand attempts at corruption and bribery.
