With the global economy increasingly driven by Asian markets, particularly the Chinese mainland, and capitalising on Hong Kong’s status as Asia's international trade and financial centre, the Think Asia, Think Hong Kong event will bring together business and government communities from Hong Kong and the UK around two discussion topics:
• Asia in the New Economic Order - the economic outlook, risks and opportunities in Asia
• The Belt and Road Initiative: Partnering for Prosperity - practical insights into how commercial sectors can unleash the full potential of these opportunities

This will be followed by four thematic seminars and networking sessions:

• Hong Kong: Gateway to Belt and Road Opportunities – Infrastructure financing experts will share insights on what China’s Belt and Road Initiative means and how Hong Kong can help UK businesses connect with the opportunities arising from this
• FinTech – Governmental bodies, financial regulators and FinTech professionals will explain why global FinTech companies are attracted to Hong Kong and share their vision for its future as a global FinTech hub
• Chinese Outbound Investment - Asian and mainland companies are looking for international investment and business opportunities, and Hong Kong is the ideal facilitator. Business leaders will share their vision as well as outlining the challenges and opportunities

More than 40 heavyweight speakers from Hong Kong and the UK including Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and Liam Fox, Secretary of State for International Trade of the UK will share their insights and experience of making use of the Hong Kong platform.
