Hammers Heroes: 1980 FA Cup Final

Ask West Ham United fans for their greatest memory and many will say that Saturday 10th May 1980 is the most famous date in the club’s history. It was on this day that The Hammers, who were then in the Second Division, defeated the mighty Arsenal in the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. On a hot afternoon, a rare Trevor Brooking header was enough for John Lyall’s underdogs to see off The Gunners who had started the match as hot favourites. For the second time in his outstanding career, Billy Bonds led his victorious team up the Wembley steps and lifted the trophy high above his head as the jubilant fans began celebrations which lasted long into the night.

This will be a unique occasion as it will be the first time the squad have appeared together on a theatre stage to re-live that triumphant cup campaign. It will be an evening of nostalgia like no other and an absolute must for all Hammers fans who are sure to remember this night forever. As usual, the show will be hosted by quick witted fans favourite Tony Gale.
