2017 Women Veterans Civic Leadership Graduates

Today's Military Women Are The New And Emerging Faces Of Public Leaders In America.”
— Deborah Harmon-Pugh
PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA, December 12, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- It's powerful to see women from all walks of life convene together with a core mission to promote social and economic equality for today's Military Women and Military Families. We applaud these Military Millennial Women for their post-military vision of service in civic engagement and community leadership. America salutes them as they continue their pledge "To Protect & Serve" for the common good of all Americans.

Three years ago, The Healthy Caregiver Community Foundation, began sponsoring The "Women Veterans ROCK!" Civic Leadership Institute, which is the only civic leadership incubator uniquely designed to prepare Women Veterans and other Military Women for Post-Military Civic Engagement & Community Leadership. With the current climate of America’s political system, the organization is pleased to have recently graduated a cohort of 25 Women Veterans and JROTC Cadet girls.

"Women Veterans ROCK! represents another powerful voice in America's public discourse advocating for social and economic equality for Today's Military Women and Military Families" says, Deborah Harmon-Pugh, President of The Healthy Caregiver Community Foundation and National Campaign Chair of Women Veterans ROCK!

"Our 2017 Graduating Class from The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute is a proud and diverse coalition of women and girls in military families. They include a host of talented Women Veterans, Active Duty Reservists, National Guard, ROTC, Military Spouses and Military Moms who are all dedicated to our core mission of achieving positive social change through post-military civic engagement and public leadership.

Women Veterans ROCK! is a vibrant community of Military Millennial Women. Every year we engage some 350+ military women and cadet girls, (ages 16+), specifically in Civic Leadership Training; Civic Engagement on Capitol Hill; and empower them through the review and analysis of Public Policy affecting military families. Our graduates then move on to become proud members of The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation to Washington, DC. Today's Military Women are the new and emerging faces of public leaders in America," says Deborah Harmon-Pugh.

The 25 Graduates of The Women Veterans ROCK! Fall Civic Leadership Masters Class Series will be among the Top 100 Delegates Representing America's Women Veterans during its Annual "Public Policy Day on Capitol Hill" during Women's History Month, 2018.

This year, The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute expanded its civic leadership training for JROTC Cadet Girls. They instituted a STEM Civic Leadership Education & Engagement component to their incubator program. Working in partnership with The School District of Philadelphia, Women Veterans ROCK is a new and emerging innovator in this inter-generational civic engagement initiative for Women and Girls in Military Families.

The "Women Veterans ROCK!" Civic Leadership Institute is supported by its long-term Community Partner, Chestnut Hill College and is funded in part by it's National Enduring Partner, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated - the nation's only Greek Letter Organization with a nationwide initiative supporting America's Women Veterans.
