DOE Releases Draft Request for Proposal and Announces Pre-Solicitation Conference for Hanford Occupational Medical Services Contract

Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for a contract to provide a variety of services at the Hanford Site, called the Hanford Occupational Medical Services Contract (OccMed). The total estimated value of the contract is up to approximately $120 million. The period of performance includes a base period of three years (including a transition period of 90 days), and two option periods of two years for a total of seven years. The current OccMed contract at Hanford held by HPM Corporation expires on September 30, 2018.

DOE anticipates awarding a contract that is anticipated to be divided into three types of contract scope: 1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) 2) Cost Reimbursement (with no fee); and 3) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ). The Draft RFP provides for full and open competition.

The purpose of the Draft RFP is to solicit input from interested parties to assist DOE in developing a Final RFP for this procurement. DOE invites all interested parties to thoroughly examine the Draft RFP and the accompanying procurement website and to submit comments to DOE.

Additionally, DOE will conduct a pre-solicitation conference, including a site tour and one-on-one meetings with interested parties in January 2018. Registration information is available via the procurement website.

The OccMed Contractor will provide an Occupational Medical Services Program of superior quality in support of on-going activities at the Hanford Site. The Contractor has the responsibility for total performance under this requirement, including determining the specific methods for accomplishing the work effort, performing quality control, and assuming accountability for accomplishing the work under the contract. The Contractor shall maintain a “readiness to serve” capability sufficient to support a workforce greater than 9,000.
