Ethiopia / AU: President Lourenço leaves Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, ANGOLA, January 29 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, has left Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, after participating on 28- 29 January at the 30th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).,

On Monday at about 3pm local time 1pm in Angola the Head of State left the Addis Ababa -  at Bole International Airport and he was bid farewell by the Ethiopian Minister of Labor, Girma Ament.

João Lourenço had a busy agenda Monday the last day of the summit, which was marked by three meetings of political consultation on top issues in Africa.

The President discussed the situation in the Great Lakes Region with Congo counterpart Dennis Sassou Nguesso, participated in a Troika with the Presidents of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, and Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, as well as discussing the financing of the African Union, with the High Representative on the Financing of the African Union Peace and Security Fund, Donald Kaberuca.

However, this morning the Angolan President participated in some plenary sessions of the 30th Session of the AU Heads of State and Government, which analyzed a number of reports, with emphasis on Peace and Security.

In these plenary sessions, the Heads of State and Government also reviewed the reports on Climate Change and on Education, Science and Technology, with the approval of the decisions of the 30th Ordinary Summit set for the end of the work.

The Summit was held on Sunday and Monday under the motto "Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Way to Transform Africa."
