ABU DHABI, ILLINOIS, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, August 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- August 28, 2018, Abu Dhabi, UAE… More than 500 healthcare delegates are expected to gather at the AWC Healthcare Information Summit, 25─26 October, at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to focus on best practices for quality clinical documentation to increase patient care, advance local workforce development, and improve revenue cycle management.

This Best in Class Summit will feature more than 35 sessions, including keynote and plenary sessions each morning on specialized topics related to cross functional documentation workflows across the healthcare ecosystem. Educational tracks each afternoon will focus on clinical documentation, coding, data analytics and informatics.

“Quality clinical documentation is essential to healthcare organizations for patient/client satisfaction, physician/customer engagement and revenue optimization,” states Alexandre Bouchè, AWC Global Managing Director. “AWC is excited to present the summit again this year, and to announce our AWC Organizational Membership (AWC OM) program and our first organizational member in the UAE, Al Ain Hospital.”

AHIMA CEO Wylecia Wiggs Harris encourages attendees to “get ready for two days of exciting learning, networking, and opportunities to advance your career and your organization. The summit will challenge you to think innovatively as you return to your workplace to develop and refine processes to make a difference in your organization,” says Wiggs Harris.

Attendees of the summit will achieve the following high-level objectives:
• Master new methods to utilize healthcare data to increase and optimize revenue and patient care. (Coded Data and Clinical Documentation)
• Learn how to use AHIMA Best Practices to analyze healthcare data―operations, finance, clinical, research, etc. (Data Analytics, Informatics, and Information Governance)
• Provide a sneak peek at the new ICD-11 code set, which was released in an “implementation-ready” version by the WHO in June 2018, and find out when it is likely to be implemented around the world.
• Learn how your organization can benefit from an AWC customized gap analysis, highlighting your organizational opportunities to increase revenue, improve patient care, and enhance your staff’s professional development.
• Develop a highly-skilled workforce using AHIMA Best Practices via training and customized membership programs.

“The AWC Healthcare Information Summit attracts high caliber speakers from the region and the United States to share best practices in coding, clinical documentation, data analytics, and informatics,” states Melanie Endicott, AHIMA Interim Vice President of HIM Practice Excellence. “Attendees will benefit from both the high-level plenary and keynote sessions, as well as the hands-on, practical track sessions each day.”

In addition, to enhance their learning and careers, attendees should plan to attend an AHIMA Professional Development Workshop on Saturday, 27 October, the day after the Summit. These workshops will focus on certification exam preparation for AHIMA’s gold standard coding (CCA, CCS, CCS-P), clinical documentation (CDIP), and data analytics (CHDA) certifications. There will also be a half-day workshop focusing on DRGs. Attendees who attend both the summit and a workshop will receive a special discount on both.
