The opening hearings of the long-awaited Public Inquiry into Infected Blood Products announced by Theresa May will take place at Church House, Westminster, London from 24th - 26th September 2018.

What is the Infected Blood Inquiry?

The Inquiry will investigate the circumstances surrounding the infection of thousands of Haemophiliacs with HIV and/or Hepatitis in the 1970's and 1980's via a medicine known as "Factor VIII", the Inquiry will also look at allegations of a subsequent cover-up amongst other issues.

Why Now?

Going back to the 1980's there had been various calls for a Public Inquiry. They had all been unsuccessful. A recently rejuvenated campaign of Political & Legal action combined with National & Internal media attention and newly discovered evidence led to the announcement of a Public Inquiry by the Prime Minister in July 2017.
