Provincial governors pledge to focus on social issues

Luanda, ANGOLA, September 14 - The permanent commitment to improvement of social and economic conditions, mainly in the sectors of health, education, employment and road networks, have been pointed as the main priorities of the new provincial governors. ,

 

The pledge came Thursday during a swearing in ceremony of the recently appointed provincial governors, chaired by the President João Lourenço.

 

The president swore in the governores of Bié Pereira Alfredo, Cunene Virgílio da Ressurreição Adriano Tyova, Huambo Joana Lina Ramos Baptista Cândido, Huíla Luís Manuel da Fonseca Nunes, Lunda Sul Daniel Félix Neto, and Zaire Pedro Makita Armando Júlia.

 

Speaking to the press, Pereira Alfredo, governor of Bie province, pledged to focus more on the health, education, road network and basic sanitation, as well as the local entrepreneurship.

 

Virgil da Ressurreição Adriano Tyova of Cunene, who has already served, among other functions, as justice delegate and municipal administrator, said he will improve what is right and correct which is wrong ".

 

Joana Lina Ramos Baptista Cândido, for Huambo province, said to work with energy, skills and intelligence, to serve the local population.

 

While, Luís Manuel da Fonseca Nunes, governor of Huíla, promised to comply with the top guidelines.

 

Lunda Sul's governor, Daniel Félix Neto also pledged to tackle the level of unemployment in the region.

 

Also speaking to the press, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia of Zaire province, called for cooperation of all, and pointed the fields of  health, education and roads as priority.

 

The governors were appointed on Wednesday by the President of Republic.
