Luanda, ANGOLA, March 13 - The opening of the 2019 judicial year is to happen on Thursday in Lobito City, centre-west Benguela Province, announced the Supreme Court through a note that reached ANGOP on Tuesday.,

According to the note, the same day is also reserved for the unveiling of a first instance court in Lobito Municipality, which is to be the first of this kind in the country.

 

The event is to happen under the motto “For Judicial Power Independence and Financial, Administrative and Assets Autonomy of Courts.

  

Angola foresees a staged creation of 60 first instance courts and five courts of appeal.

    

The approved legislation establishes that the State organs need to assist the judicial courts, in order to secure their independence and impartiality.
