International Monetary Launches Medical Benefits Program

January 7, 2011 (FinancialWire) (http://www.financialwire.net/) (Investrend Information Syndicate) — International Monetary Systems, Ltd. (ITNM – OTCBB) (Approx. Market Cap US$ 7.3 Mil.), a business-to-business barter services company, has launched of a new medical benefits program for its nationwide clients. The program, “IMS Benefit Solutions”, makes it possible for IMS members to utilize their earned “trade dollars” to provide an expanded healthcare benefits package to their employees, making hundreds of healthcare providers across America available via the company’s proprietary barter transaction clearing system.

International Monetary Systems has had a medical reimbursement policy that utilizes trade dollars in place for its employees for many years now. The idea to expand the program to its members was spawned by one of the company's senior trade brokers, Rebecca Lucas, in the IMS Rohnert Park, California office.

Don Mardak, CEO of IMS commented, saying, "We believe, because of the size of the IMS trade network, that our new healthcare program is the largest of its kind in the barter industry. As part of the program,” Mardak continued, “IMS business members will offer their employees trade dollars as reimbursement for medical costs that are not covered by their health insurance plans.” Mardak added, “Because of the high healthcare costs that most companies and their employees are now facing, IMS Benefit Solutions will not only enhance the clients' businesses, but will also generate significant new trade-dollar volume for International Monetary Systems. As a result of this program, we expect to recruit many more medical professionals across North America to join the IMS barter network."

Under the new plan, exchange members and their employees will carry a special IMS Benefit Solutions prepaid barter card, which they will present to their medical providers.

International Monetary Systems (IMS), together with its subsidiaries, owns, manages, and operates trade exchanges and other related businesses. IMS trade exchanges are barter networks comprised of financial service firms utilizing IMS’s proprietary transaction clearing software, which enables businesses and individuals to trade goods and services online using an electronic currency known as “trade dollars”. IMS serves approximately 23,000 cardholders in 50 North American markets, allowing companies to create cost savings and connect to new customers by incorporating barter opportunities in their business models. The company was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Further information can be obtained via the company's website (at http://www.imsbarter.com/).
